Ahhhh great. Bought a stolen iPhone...

so what did the guy who you knew say when you told him his friends phone you bought was stolen and you'd like your money back? i don't think in this whole thread, it was once mentioned the responses of the people you bought the phone from when asked for your money back.....or maybe i missed reading that part?

and original owner says he wants to pay you, but he's already got a new phone. why not just let you keep the old one and have it unlocked?

I never made it clear that I wanted my money back, I did make it clear that the phone they sold me was useless but all he said was he didn't know that it was a bad phone. I figured by that response, they not giving any money back.

Yeah that was odd when I asked the owner if he gotten a new phone and he pulls out the same iPhone and said his insurance got him a new phone but he had to pay the $200 deductible. He said he was in some financial situation and would like to compensate me later. So that's all I know.

ill keep that in mind... what is the relevance of this again??

If I went to the cops and made a report that a black guy sold me a stolen phone? That's like saying a white guy sold me a stolen phone. No real information that would help them. I doubt the guy that I know will fork up his information. I have a feeling they were in it together.

Your friend that put you in contact with him not give his name up? Bet he would if cops and possible theft charges were out there

That's what I'm trying to figure out. Cobb county pretty much won't do anything and the guy I know is now saying he didn't know that the phone was lost/stolen. I don't think cops willing to put the resources out for a $350 phone. That's why I'm trying to figure out what else is there to do but apparently there's nothing I could do. I already gave the phone back so now there's nothing else to do lol. Oh well it's a lesson learned. I didn't even know Apple had a set where you can check on phone if they are lost or stolen. That's a helpful tool I could have used...

I really hate to be "that guy" (especially since I suspect you are a really nice guy) but at some point, this is all on you.
Let me ask, if someone here sold you a gun for $350 that didn't work and was literally worthless (or stolen and you know they knew it), would you just shrug your shoulders?
