The casing doesn't wear out your barrel...it can cause slightly increased throat erosion and extractor wear over thousands of rounds. Economy wise you can buy half a dozen barrels with the money saved by shooting steel case by the time your barrel needs replacing.

AKs are intended to shoot steel case, the only reason not to is if you plan to use something like Hornady ammo for maximum SD/hunting performance.

Exactly . The ole sten got beat up with Tula . It eventually smoothed out the barrel and the sear stripped . Once the sear went the gun just ran away. A new barrel and sear was $112 . Shooting steel case ammo over brass paid for that 20 times over .

So? Moose milk it . Half water half ballistol down the barrel and on front of bolt . Takes an extra few minutes and To date I’ve never seen it fail.

You are truly free . I can’t do it . The moment I make it home I’m unpacking the gear and cleaning the guns . Granted an AK you really don’t have to do much. Wipe it down.

AKs don't care about ammo one way or another. Spending more on brass cased ammo is just turning money into noise
