Unlike that brand new cartridge 9mm Luger..40 was the only caliber worth having according to all the gun writers 30 years ago. I guess it got too old to be effective any longer.

Yeah, they had the 637 and 638 for $299. I picked up a 637. Then a week later I think they had a special for $250 one day. That was a great deal even at $300.Still waiting for those $250 SW 638's. Heard a rumor they had them on sale for that price over the summer.
I picked up a 637 and a 642 for $249.99 each, separate Saturdays during the summer at Alex.
Always baffled by 40 cal naysayers....shoots, penetrates, injuries or maybe DRT....it works IMO
Exactly. Maybe it’s not your EDC or Range Favovite. For whatever reason. But some of these deals on 40s, particularly trade in are awesome. A truck gun? Stash it around your house? Because you are ghey? (Ha, joke)
I’m gonna get me a trade in 40, load it with some hollow points. Although to a recoil whuss who doesn’t get to the range, a Shield in 40 may not be the best choice.
Little to no ballistic advantage over 9mm, more expensive, less rounds on board. The best thing about 40 is cheap police trade-ins, $300 Glock 40 cals ftw.
Regular price on the M&P15, decent deal on the 22 pistol, who wants a 40 Cal shield? Alexander's you are better than that lol
