I ordered a somewhat pricey item, about $300. I did not receive it when they said I would. I waited a few days and emailed them. They apologized that the vendor was out of stock and credited my account. I received the item 2 days later and emailed Amazon. I got an email telling me to enjoy my purchase at no charge.
My son used my Prime account, which has my company cc info. He didn't know the difference and when I contacted Amazon, they credited my card and shipped anyway at no charge.
I try to order as much as I can from them.
