And here we go again (School shooting)

Is this one of those semi-automatic assault revolvers?

I always go check out comments on the NY Times after a shooting like this. The comments from their readers (almost entirely on the left) make it very, very clear that the goal is total gun confiscation. They want "assault type rifles", whatever the hell that means, just as a stepping stone. Give them one, and slowly but surely they will take them all.

Since this level of carnage was done with a shotgun and a .38 revolver, things which have been around well over a hundred years, I wonder if they'll start being more honest about what they want. More likely, they'll say, "Imagine how many more would have been killed if he had access to a fully semi-automatic assault rifle, with 100-round clipazines!"

What a terrible tragedy, and stupid loss of life. The killer apparently admitted he was too cowardly to commit suicide afterward. He should be hanged publicly, tomorrow, in the town square, after being tried before sundown. No more media glory for these sick bastards, who take what was usually a bad childhood and then just turn their misery on everyone else. This is because people are no longer being supported by strong families, or taught how to accept personal responsibility and find meaning in life. So sad.

Its sad u can blame Social media websites lack of parenting List goes on and on. Kinda like the one in Hall county other day shooting cars on 365 his hero was the Fl School shooter Sad sick world

It’s not the guns - those were plentiful as I grew up - we had no school shootings.

I submit that the desensitization of these young men by their extraordinary immersion into violent, mind numbing, escape from reality, fantasy provoking video games is absolutely the cause of these outbursts.

I was thinking the same thing about the availability of guns before we ever had mass shootings and agree 100% with that article.

I also think that the physical inactivity associated with watching tv, internet, or video games as mentioned may have something to do with it. A grown man will start to feel sluggish and lazy if he doesn't work out or get in some type of physical activity, plus a bad diet will make him feel like crap. I know it goes deeper than diet and exercise but I think it's a great start, along with more positive reinforcing social activity especially for boys. I'd imagine reclusiveness is a fairly common trait amongst these kids.

I'd also like to see metal detectors being used and a 300% increase in the number of security guards on campus. Students should also be required to sit down with a therapist/guidance counselor once every 6 months to get answers to common questions and to be evaluated on their mental stability. If they can't pass the examination, get the parents involved and the kids gotta go through a rehabilitation program kinda like a boot camp to get them back on track.

Saw this: "Student Mateo Twilley said she knew Pagourtzis and that he wore a trench coat to school. "I had my advisory class, which is after third period with him," she told CNN. "He was really quiet and he wore like a trench coat almost every day."

This didn't raise a flag? I was in 10th grade when the Columbine shooting happened, trench-coats were literally banned from all schools after that.

I'm suspicious of mother****ers wearing sweat shirts and sweat pants this time of year. Let alone trench coats...
