Is 12 ozs heavy for a rail? I have the 7" on my SBR and I like the slim feel to it...Not crazy about the (heavy) UTG rail, but the billett upper and lower (6061) might make it a good SBR candidate. Hope it's reliable.

Nope, the UTG pro stuff is better than the standard UTG stuff, my 7" rail is 8ozs.For a 12-13" rail probably not. I did not see a weight measurement for the rail itself but UTG stuff is pretty cheap, and cheap usually means heavier. I typically dont't like rails longer than mid length - 9". If yours is 7" and 12oz, i'd say that is on the heavy side.
