Another piece of **** Chevrolet just got the report last night! This is who we should be protesting against! Ford Chevy Dodge Toyota

That 300 inline 6 is a tank. I had a 93 f150 a few years ago and it was at 380k and still running strong. The truck was falling apart around it lol. But that engine!
Like the 70s vintage Kenmore washer we had years ago in Gray. The outer body was about to rust out but the rest of it kept on going. These days with washers and appliances in general...well I'm sure y'all already know.
They just HAD to add electronics and touch screens to things that clearly didn't need them. And that's the first thing that breaks. When it does break it's about as pricey as buying a new one.

I bought a new GMC Sierra AT4 as retirement truck present. Stranded us - would not run. Towed to dealer of purchase. Good news - just a sensor; bad news - no parts available anywhere for any money. Sat on lot 30+ days waiting on part with no loaner and no rental car (I can get a rental car for myself but they MIGHT reimburse). While it was sitting in purgatory I saw the class action lawsuit on the transmission and saw the threads on the looming 6.2 disaster.

Looked at other trucks - vaunted Toyota Tundra having motor recalls - know a guy whose Tundra went through the original motor and the replacement motor had to be replaced. Ford is the king of recalls. Dodge killed the Hemi and went to a hybrid V* only followed by a new turbo six.

Sold the GMC for most of what I had in it and bought a used SUBARU Ascent. Plenty of room for my competition gear and it will go anywhere I want to go.

That’s discouraging that US automakers can’t get their act together. I switched years ago to Toyota for a small truck. I still have my 1998 Tacoma 4x4 4 cylinder which lasted 548,000 miles before needing major engine work. In 2018 I bought a new Honda Ridgeline, loaded Black Edition. Great handling light truck. In 2022, at about 109,000 my torque converted lockout clutch went out requiring a torque converter replacement. Since it was out of warranty the dealer said the repair of nearly $6k was on me. I wrote Honda explaining how dissatisfied I was and how I never experienced this kind of major failure with Toyota and they agreed to pay half. I did tell them that the problem was somewhat a known issue and something they must have known about because the new part had a different part number indicating a change. Well this year, I received a notice from Honda that says they are providing retroactive warranty coverage for a faulty torque converter lock out clutch for the years covering my truck. They are are now offering to refund me the half I paid, almost $3,000, to replace the faulty torque converter back in 2022. Yes failure shouldn’t happen. However, sometimes things happen. How a company handles the quality problems goes a long way toward gaining customers loyalty. This is why I still avoid GM, Ford and Dodge. They have a bad track record for quality and customer support. The only US brand I’ve considered is Tesla but it just won’t work for me until they make a pick up truck that’s not retarded looking and outrageously expensive.
We never had any trouble with our Toyota. They did send us a notice that they were extending our warranty to 8yrs and 140k miles. Never needed it. That's the kind of warranty I like. Have one, but don't need it

There's a 2015 Camry and an 09 Camry in my Mom's driveway. She's had around six Camrys since 95. I wound up with two of them. First was a 94 LE and the second was an 04 LE. Both had well over 200K showing when I got them. I got over a 100K more out of both.
Mom wanted another Camry so bad that we bought the 09 from one of her friends with 136K showing which is damn good for an 09. So I wound up with the 19 Corolla my stepfather bought before he died in 2020. Yeah she hated that Corolla and wanted another Camry THAT bad. In case you were wondering the 15 Camry is my son's car now and it definitely shows.
Anyway this entire thread reminds me of how I have a tec cutoff point as far as new(er) cars. Some **** I just don't want in a vehicle as in push button start and that engine cutout bull**** when you're not moving. I'm also out on the huge touch screens. The Corolla has one but it's not nearly as big as what they have now and it only runs the audio and back up camera. So hopefully even if the touch screen goes bad it won't disable the rest of the car. So yeah I guess 2019 is as new of a vehicle as I'll ever own/want.

Only single truck i would buy brand new at this point is the new nissan frontiers, even the new tacomas are destroying their trans on top of other issues. I have an older tacoma with the old 4.0 and im never letting this **** go.
