Any Bicyclists in the house? Road? Mountain? Hybrid?

Just finished my first good ride on the new toy. 27.5 miles. The new riding position is going to take a little getting used to, I'm hurting a little, but I love the bike.

In a couple days get back on the bike..(short ride 8-15) recovery ride...
stay around 15-22 miles as a max until your body gets use to it..4 or 5 rides then bump up to a 30

A lot of that pain should go away....

With the heat MAYBE coming down....my mileage will go up! I want to do some of the Silver Comet - Way out there not in town.

I am the upper end of the Silver Comet. I used to ride from Rockmart down to Dallas and back quite often. But I got tired of dodging walkers and dogs on leashes. Now I just try to stay out of the way of the pickups out on our country roads. In truth my biggest worry is someone texting or an elderly person who doesn't see me. I do have daylight bright flashing tail light.

Be safe out there guys. A good friend of mine got hit by a minivan last week while riding alone on the Rome bypass. SMH, he shouldn't have been there and not alone for sure. His wife didn't even know where he was.

Considering I'm a noob and my 30 mile ride ride last week was my longest ride ever. Jumping in the new bike and going that far was probably kind of silly. I still have a long ways to go fitness wise. I'll do what you suggested though. Can't ride again till Thursday anyway and only have an hour to ride then so it should work out about right.

Here are a few pics from my latest ride....34mi and over 3200ft of climbing....Climbed Bear Creek to Potato Patch, our past 3 forks and then down Mountain Town and back to our property....Love the Salsa Fargo....a very capable bike for sure....this one hurt a bit!
