Any honey holes in Athens?

Are there any C&R honey holes in Athens.....aside from Clyde Armory and Franklins? Any pawn shops or other stores that merit a visit? I'll be traveling through to the UGA bookstore with my wife and I'm looking for something "Fun for me" while I'm there.

Gun room in Winder is normally well stocked with C and R type guns at a reasonable price. If you are going that way ( or arent) it's worth the out of route miles. He also has a goodie table and reloading supplies.


Sporting arms is also good. Jerry is a good guy to deal with and normally has some older rifles hiding in the back. Tell him what you are looking for and he just might have one stuck back still in the cosmoline (I seen it happen).

I dont do much of the c&r stuff, been to the gun room a couple times, friendly enough in there. Had them do a transfer for me (at 25 bucks) before I found the odt. It's a little hole in the wall is the best I could say on them. Been to plenty of pawn shops with more than they have
