Anybody do a .40 to 9mm conversion on an XDM?

I've been using the Lone Wolf 9mm barrel in my Glock 22 (.40) for years. All I do is drop in the 9mm barrel and a 9mm mag and go. Never had a single problem. Same reason I'm getting the xdm in .40 so I can shoot 9mm and .357 Sig.
What brand barrel are you getting??

Leaning heavy towards the stormlake 5.3" ported. Will probably go ahead and drop to the reccomended 16lb recoil spring.

Thanks for your comments fellas, good and bad. I'm going to buy the 9mm "conversion" barrel that Brownells sells and give it a try. My main question was on the mags. Not knowing Springfield, and hearing of "small and large frame" pistols, I was hoping that with the vast knowledge available on ODT, that someone would know for sure. Oh well, guess in a couple of weeks, I'll know. Troy brings up a good point, I wonder if the extractor will even reach a 9mm case?

Let us know if it works, I'm curious now. If it does there may be a "xd v10 9mm trade for. 40 S&W" ad in my future. I love the 40, bought a 9 for the same reason you want to convert. Good luck.

Yes, you can use the 9mm mags or tweak the magazine lips to fit. A lot of XD 9 owners use 40 mags with the lips squeezed in a little to get a few more rounds in the magazine. Works great.

THAT, right there, is what I'm talking about! See, the wealth of information is starting to flow! I kept reading "we recommend using 9mm mags"...But it NEVER said that you had to, and this above is obviously why. If you bend the tops of the mags for the 9mm, will they still run the .40s correctly? I will buy 4 or 5 9mm mags, but it's good to know that I don't have to. How many 9mm fit in a .40 mag? Daddy's getting excited!

You're best to check on XDtalk forum for this kind of information. There's been a lot more people on there with the conversion than here...
