Anybody refine any silver?

the only way of recycling silver i know of that is worth it is generally either scavenging for sterling or sometimes hopsitals and imagaing centers would give out old xray photos/damaged photos (the black part of xray film is evidently unburned silver particulate)

saw a video of them taking a bunch in india and putting them in a chemical bath then adding some type of metal bar so the slver could aggregate together

Back in the day when silver was cheap cheap I was buying it off Ebay and melting it into bars. When its liquid you add borax and the other metals slab off and you are left with better than sterling purity. I never had any of them tested and ended up trading most of what I had for a hand made silver ring.
