Anyone a fan of LMT L8A rear sights?

So… I purchased a legit set of LMT front & rear sights some time ago. I recently bought two more rear sights direct from LMT (within the last month or so). I swear, the new ones are being produced differently. I’m not a machinist, but whereas the old one looks forged and has milling marks in the hollowed areas underneath, the new ones look like they’re billet. Definitely looks like a different production method. The engravings are also different. The “LMT” is smaller in the circle on the logo and the windage adjustment arrows and letters are very different. Anyone else notice anything similar?

I would be curious to know of LMT actually makes them or OEMs them. My guess is the latter and they switched suppliers

Lots of things at LMT are changing up. Sadly, quality is one of them. Id run an old school colt carry handle for that style of rear sight.

That’s too bad. But seems to be where most are heading these days.

Its been years since ive had one, but I think I remember them being made from carry handle forgings.

That new one is definitely a fully machined piece
