anyone ever go through the process for a new hin number

I just bought a 24 foot jon boat with no hin number on it. It has a expired registration but I can't seem to go through the registration process without the hin number. Anyone ever go through the process getting a new hin # issued? What was it like? Just wondering what I should expect. Thanks

Fill out the forms, pay the money, and go to one of the DNR's HIN days, or make an appointment with the local ranger.

But you have to pay the money.

It may not have had a HIN number originally, so don't worry about the old registration.

DNR was very helpful on the phone walking me through it.

Very easy. I have them out to the marina to help customers all the time. Biggest problem is that sometimes they aren't on time.
