Anyone have any experience with "The Georgia Traverse?"

From everything I've read, it's a fairly mild trail in terms of rocks and actually off roading. Do you know something I don't?

In other news, I ran across an article from some guys who have done. Link here if others are interested. They claim that there is a 30" water crossing. That's, uh....that's pretty deep. Anybody out there that can confirm?

Going mostly on the intel in post #2:

"On the less traveled FS roads such as the Cohuttas have a lot of exposed rock so cut tires are a good possibility if you drive too fast and don’t read the road. I have steel skid plates on both the front and rear differentials as erosion has exposed some larger rock in the road could easily crack a diff."

My Jeep is bone stock brand new. At least my previous one had a 3" lift and better tires/wheels.

Thoughts on this ^.

I was, and still am, to some extent, considering a Rooftop Tent, but this ^ has the advantage of having a good bit of floor space, but would require more real estate to set up. Could have the girls and the dog in the tent on air mattresses and the wife and I in the Jeep.

I have this for my truck and like it a lot. I have a camper top with a Decked system in the back. Sleep on top of the Decked system and this makes it easy to sleep with the tailgate down and the hatch open especially in the rain. Also helps for a late night piss when it’s raining.

I think your idea is good. Kids wouldn’t feel so separated from you and your wife out in the woods.
