Anyone know why Marlin doesn't put a full length mag tube on their 45/70s?

I used to have some bolt action rifles in African game cartridges. If I remember correctly, the capacity was like 4 in the magazine floor plate one in the chamber. The recoil of the cartridge literally pushed the bullet into the case every time you pulled the trigger. So the last 2 or 3 rounds where pushed extremely far into the case. You couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with those last rounds. Not to mention it likely changed the case pressures as well. This was on factory or reload ammo as well. I believe the same principle would apply here. To this day if I want anything larger than @ a 338 Win Mag, I'll use a Double or single shot riffle.

I should have stated, and "extend the barrel to 24". Regardless, that is not what Marlin was trying to achieve with the 45/70 Guide Gun.
