AR 15 bolt handle charging handle extension

I have a Colt AR 15 and put a scope on it. Hard to reach the charging handle. how hard is it to put a extension on it.

Push out the roll pin and remove your factory latch being careful not to lose the small spring behind it. Then insert your extended latch and factory spring in place of the original latch. Push the roll pin back in and you’re DONE!

Get a BCM extended charging handle. Available in multiple sizes to address your exact concern.

Just adding an extension to a Milspec usually results in bending/damaging the aluminum that can't handle the added leverage.
