Ar-15 cleaning: what points do you oil and how much oil do you leave?

I've used oil, clp, and grease on the bolt carrier contact points. Can't say any of them worked better than the other.

But I'm not firing thousands of rounds at a range trip, either.

I do tend to run 'em wetter than drier.

I like my BCGs like a strippers ass.
No SLIP2000 plug yet? Anyone have any thoughts on the BCM torture test with it?

Sorry slow to the meet was busy. Was about to jump in on that.
Hard to over lube pretty much anything. There is a video of Larry Vickers submerging an AR15 in lube before firing it.
So I run mine wet and use Slip 2000 for most everything anymore, AR15s, shotguns, pistols. Can personally say that there is a difference in the smoothness of the rifle from running it with Slip than if I were to run just a light coat of oil on it or dry like some like to push. Also cleaning the rifle with Slip also tends to be easier since a lot of the grim just wipes off. Generally with my BCM builds I only clean it after the BCG is so dirty I can no longer see the BCM logo on it. Only malfs I've had have been failure to lock back with under-powered Tula and Wolf .223.

I also hardly ever run mine wet. I have run over 2ooo rounds of cheap wolf and lc in one weekend and never had any problems.. But after a range or weekend shooting I dismantel and clean bolt carrier and gas tube with brushes and solvent then air blow dry everything out and good till next time. The oil will have everything around u sticking too it when its wet as a friend found out while shooting prarie dogs. Only ars i have seen being run wet are home builts that aren't built right or usually ended up being a gas tube clogged or other issue causing ftf or fte. I also run a good chrome bolt carrier and no need for much oil just clp on carrier , putting in safe then ready for next trip.
