I have a problem I just can't seem to get my arms around. Situation is this -- My wife and I were in her car when a young lady ran a stop sign and hit us hard enough to turn us 180 degrees in the road. There was a witness who told the investigating officer that she ran the sign. The lady also admitted she went thru the sign. He cited her to court. Her insurance company, which is Progressive, fixed the damage that was obvious but refuses to put our car back to where it was originally. the rear hatch has a huge gap between it and the body, the rear door is out of alignment and the roof is bent. The underside shown damage to the exhaust and the frame. They claim previous damage. The car has never been in an accident before. I know I have to sue the lady but my problem is that I don't know what to ask for. I've been to two body shops but they say they can't tell how much to fix it till they get it taken apart. I think their problem is that I'm looking myself and they just don't want to invest any effort. I also need to be able to show the judge how much my car's value has dimished because of being in a wreck. Where can I find someone that could help me find my answers? I'm willing to compensate anyone for their trouble. Thanks for reading my sob story.
