Don't even joke about that. Pro second amendment rallies are like gay pride parades everyone wants to go over the top. I would give the same advice to 2nd rally goers as I do to gay pride parade participants. Show up dressed like you dress for work so people see it is real people. Wearing tactical gear and open carrying rifle is the same as wearing hot pants and tiaras. It does nothing to help your cause.

It's about time gun owners with a sane mind get a platform. The liberals have had one for long enough with plenty of news coverage to go around.

Well, the difference is politically, liberals tend to use emotionally charged issues and tactics to make their point. Those tactics work for their causes because a well thought out debate stops them every time. For the conservative, a well controlled debate always works when done the right way in a controlled format.

If we allow them to get the emotional charge going, they will win the day. Pictures, and loud mouths who just need to say something without putting forethought into how the other side will receive it will hurt us.

I'm so happy to see so many reasonable minded people here, because that's who I know we are truly. But all it takes is a few guys to screw it for everyone. With a media looking for that one guy to make an example out of because he has to much pride dripping out of the corners of his mouth onto the AR he just had to bring and show off.

I'm all for this. There is strength in unity and numbers. I'm just glad to see so many getting involved. We have to be more pro active and keep it up.

The flaw is in your premise. We are not trying to change an antis mind. We are trying to effect the view of the moderates and undecideds. Which are the large majority and biggest voting block.

This^^^^. We can't change the minds of the crazy left extreme nor does it do any good to play into their hand. It's the moderate/undecided folks as mentioned above that need to see real human beings, speaking softly, intellectually, eloquently, with calm resolve and purpose. The media will not call out the antifa and the scary way they dress and more importantly the way they commit crimes. But they will jump all over any pro-gun person even looking the part that they want them to look. The battle is a game of chess, not a arm wrestling match.

So are you saying that their willingness to uphold or deny our 2nd amendment rights lies potentially in them seeing protestors with or without openly visible firearms at a rally? Hmmm. I'm starting to rethink my flawed logic statement.

Image matters. Whether we like it or not, it's a sales pitch. Adults speaking, and presenting as mature adults, or screaming, emotionally charged adult children, who are all about the spectacle. Human nature my friend....image matters in persuasion.
