I always heard it was too “snappy”
Something about wrists and strength.

I thought it a bit snappy the first time I shot it in a baby Glock. It is compared to a 45. Wife loved it though. She even pointed out that the small Glock fit her smaller hand better and that if anyone ever wrestled it away from her it might be more difficult for them to use....thus giving her a bit of an advantage in a fight. Now she keeps a G23 handy, ODT has been nice enough to keep a cheap supply of ammo coming for her practice Cheap enough that I can't reload at that price point (anybody else want to sell some?) Thus making it unlikely that anyone will get that chance to take it away from her. Snappy? Weak? Who cares, 14 rounds of Federal HP's delivered on target should solve most problems.

Why has everyone all decided that the cool thing to do is hate .40 caliber ammunition?

Nothing wrong with 40 I have a Ruger police carbine 40 is a great caliber for the carbine and a Glock 40 that I carry during the colder months.

Up until last year, I had never even shot a 40 cal pistol, so I bought a G22 police trade in to give it a try. It has now become my truck pistol. I am comfortable with a G22 with 2 mags full of Black Talons.
