At a meet this morning, a member with one positive feedback, tried to buy a handgun from me.......he turned out to be 19 years old. He argued that it was OK since it was to be a private sale. I adamantly refused the sale telling him he must be at least 21 years old to buy or otherwise posses a hand gun. Was I wrong?

Don't know if you were 'wrong' but you were certainly incorrect.
Might be a good idea to put in your listing what otherwise legal purchasers you'll refuse to sell to, to avoid waisting each others time.
Having said that, I'm not selling to a kid I don't know. Who qualifies as a "kid" keeps getting older and older....
