There are several things that can wipe out a.hive. Harvest too late and too much and fhey can starve during the winter. Incecide and pests also take their toll. It's nature and things just happen.

My neighbor has 50 hives next door and another 25 at a coworkers house. He is the go to guy for anything about bees. If you want his number PM me. We live about 5 miles outside of Griffin.

What is a hive? IS it one of those boxes that the beekeepers put in the midst of the field?
Or one of them boxes have different hives?

I am clueless about bees!!

I eat local honey grown a few miles from my house in the spring in hopes it helps my allergies. If nothing else it makes my smoothie taste better in the morning. I sat next to a friend at a football game one night and he was telling me about his bees. I was amazed at what all is involved in maintaining bees and harvesting.

My daughter has 9 hives currently. She started a few years ago. I’ve built her several boxes. She used to get upset when a hive swarmed but now sees it as normal. I use 3-4 gallons a year. Love it. I however don’t want to get into it as it takes a good bit of time to take care of them.
