I am currently looking for a solid semi auto 12 gage shotgun that can be used for all types of bird hunting, and competition. I would like the gun to come in under 1000. Any suggestions on the best gun I should get?

Remington 1100 has been getting it done for decades. Just change the 50c o ring every couple years, and keep some oil on it.

Thank you for the feedback. What do you all think of the Winchester SX3 and SX4?
If you want all-around, I'd go with something that can chamber up to a 3.5-inch shell (for geese or turkey). I have a Stoeger m3500 in the Max5 Camo, paid $650 for it and worth every penny. Also has 5-yr warranty which is one of the better ones out there.
How does the stoeger handle light loads?
I shoot a few boxes of skeet out at my cabin with Federal 2 and 3/4 target loads, no issues.
For that price we may have a winner
