Barrett 50 cal. I like to shoot mine and just go up and start to eat. It's kills, cleans and cooks them in one shot. Even sits on a silver platter for ya!

You had me till it serves you too....... 🤣Tella what I have seen. A guy shot one right over a doe's head. Sucked the eyeballs right of her head and dead as a doornail. Bullet never hit her

No doubt everyone has opinions. I have taken deer with several different calibers over the last 5 decades and 30:06 has always been my most favorite. I have been hunting the last two years with a ruger ranch in 450 BM and really like the weight , compactness of it. Have taken 2 decent bucks with it so will probably stick with it.

I, like a lot of people, love the .270. My most memorable shot was with a borrowed 25 06. I found the stand my cousin told me about and climbed up in the dark. When the sun came up I realized I was damn near 30’ off the ground in a ramshackle bundle of 2x4s. Then the wind picked up. A lot. The only thing I could hear over the wind and groaning trees was the old rusty 16 pennies backing out of the dry rotted lumber I was clinging to. Full grown doe walked out. I timed the swaying of the tree perfectly and a 240 yd. shot turned her lights out. Bang, flop. Not even a wiggle. I couldn’t wait to get outta that tree by choice.

I’ve had a few older guys tell me it’s unethical to shoot deer beyond 100yrds unless it’s with a 300wm. I usually just let them talk.

100 yards where you get to shoot that far? My last 3 have been at 37 yards
