Best place to buy food storage?

The Sams club is selling Augason Farms http://www.augasonfarms.com

It is actually less expensive at Sams Club than from them directly plus Sams Club includes free shipping by Fed Ex to your home! A package for 4 for one year ($3100) weighs nearly 1500 lbs., 54 cases, six #10 cans/case.

IMHO, it is a great "starter package", much like insurance. You may never need it, but......

makes one wonder what's in it and how many calories....a year of food from gourmet reserves is 27 cases for one person...

I agree with dondon48!!! Read the ingredients carefully on that one. Especially when it says "natural flavoring".
In fact, I will go and read them myself. Give me a day or two to let you guys know what I find......
They may actually make a decent product or they may be selling BUBBLE GUTS!!

you can go on Sams Club site and get a break down on all items, nutiction, etc. Same with Augason site.

the augason Farms meals are on sale for $2774 (4 people for one year at 1700 calories per person/per day for a year) at Sams club on line. http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=prod2411209&iid=Category|TOPSELLER|Emergency Foods and Supplies|*$2,774.00 after $200 Instant Savings* Augason Farms Emergency Food Storage Kit - 1 year - 4 people

BTW, the gourmet reserves "supreme" is 1900 calories per person/per day for a year and is a lot more expensive at $18,719 and their "Versatile" kit for 2000 calories for 4 for 1 yr is $11,524. http://www.survivalfood.com/gourmet-reserves-versatile-system-one-year-for-one-person/ I realize that some people say that you get what you pay for, but if it is not affordable, it may be out of your budget.

I have the Augason farms products and have been very satisfied with them. Don't be expecting a 5 star meal at a fancy restaurant, but it is reasonably tasty...and affordable. Just my 2 cts.

I've eaten the wise and had no significant issues(taste notwithstanding). I have 3 of the 60 count grab and go buckets for the 20-25 year shelf life and am stocking/rotating canned goods for the 1-3 year range. Haven't decided who to go with for intermediate storage. Probably Mountain House. I got my Wise for $99 bucket delivered. One on sale from Cheaper than Dirt and 2 from Amazon. Can't find it for that price now though.

Although I do have freeze dried put away, I'm going to start to also stock on canned foods. Salmon, tuna, Spam, Vienna sausage. I remember my Dad coming home with c-rations with 1940's dates this was early 60's we played Army. Some soda crackers, chocolate, and whatever was in the green cans. We didn't get sick...
