Delta flight clips another plane on taxiway at Atlanta airport, knocks off smaller plane's tail

A plane clipped a second plane on a taxiway at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on Tuesday morning, tearing the tail off the smaller plane.

They said the other plane was Endeavor Air. But it damn sure has the Delta widget on its tail…..guess it’s a sub contractor?

Correct, It’s a Regional Jet that’s part of the Delta Connection system. They usually provide service to smaller regional airports where it’s not profitable to fly a MD-88 or B737 on the route.

Delta owns Endeavor. Just like they did ASA and other short leggers. Profit sharing is taking a beating this year...

Our Aircraft Commander forgot that rotor wash from a CH-53E is stout. It was about 5 degrees on some mountain on the wrong side of The Adriatic. LT (Big Sexy) Alexander said piss on this guy I am taking off right now right here. Anyway in giddiness I ran back to the ramp in time to see tents and some people rolling around like tumble weeds. It looked cold.

Big Sexy wasn’t following directions.

Sometimes the reason for an instruction is not known but failing to comply with it can have fatal consequences.

Big Sexy is now:

Brigadier General Alexander of The Michigan Air National Guard. It worked out ok.

That particular mission only had priority one way. We had to prioritize our return. There were concerns of hitting Bingo over the water, weather, etc… besides we’re Americans and they weren’t. We always acted accordingly.
