I would never voluntarily run an adjustable gas block. In my book, they’re a last resort, to be used when nothing else will get the gun running reliably.

The only adjustable gas block that I recommend is from Superlative Arms.

16", I'm leaning towards Ballistic Advantage due to their reputation. They are owned by Aero now. They are in stock on their ballistic's website but cmshoot has a few in stock locally. I don't think Ive seen any 16" barrels come in stock from Aero in 6+ months.

I have an extra 16” B.A. barrel in.308 I picked up at true prep and a Luth-Ar but stock in F.D.E. Also the Luth-ar has the tube spring and rifle weight. Ended up going with 18” stainless and fluted on both builds, with nickel boron bcg’s on both. One is a delta barrel and mercury precision bcg, with magpul prs gen3 stocks on both. But still holding on the Wilson combat barrel and nickel boron bcg and Wilson adjustable block and tube for the second build. I may have an extra aero bcg in black nitride after I check out the nickel boron one from mercury precision and the barrel from delta for operation and headspace. With the 16” barrel most agree to use a carbine weight and spring.

Excellent my man you can do it! Take your time and watch some videos on pivot pin install or it will be half way across the room before you know it. The rest is a cake walk. ENJOY the journey and you will never buy another shelf gun. Don't skimp on the barrel. Buy a good one to take advantage of the .308 capabilities.

Nice. They guarantee 1 MOA with Match ammo. Run some Federal Good Medal Match Sierra 168 OTM through it. If it's going to deliver 1 or sub MOA it will do it with that ammo. My 308 build I splurged on the barrel. It is a 500 dollar plus Shilen 18 inch bull barrel. With that same ammo it will print .425 groups all day and I am no pro. Anything under 1 MOA is good from a semi auto gun. Good luck my friend! I can't wait to see the finished product and some targets as well.

Yours will be a great deal lighter due the difference in barrel profile. That's a good thing.
