My understanding is they're going to put the burden off of FFL dealers. Not 100% sure of the details.
IMO, no way in hell. Braced pistols that have >4 points on their gay worksheet, will be SBRs per their "rules". You either pay $200 and engrave the receiver, or remove the brace, otherwise you will be a felon.
The ATF cannot grant amnesty. Don't fall for their honeypot.
I'm not sure how many folks take their stuff to the ffl but I never have. In my mind, it's not complicated, don't ask, don't tell. Of course I don't go to ranges or courses so, I guess there are several types of people who have a ton of different scenarios.
I do have one real question, what about the people who have the roni conversions?
I thought we heard this last year for summer 2022? Then it was pushed to the fall now 2023? I think it'll keep getting kicked down the road, especially since Midterms were so close and the election is right around the corner.
Maybe after two consecutive months of no bennies. Maybe then.
