Hate to tell folks but that statement has been up for a while now... ever since this whole 'watch list' idea was first floated.
It's probably going to get traction now though, the NRA simply doesn't have any way to stop it. That's the problem with terrorist attacks, they scare the sheeple and make them clamor to be protected.
And since there is no way the Dems and gun-grabbers will get a ban on AR-15s, this will be their sticking point.
That being said, if the NRA can get some kind of due process requirements around these lists they will have done more for this country than anyone I can think of in the last 20 years.
These things are scary, taken straight from the KGB and Gestapo. I'd love to see them completely gone, but if they at least can be opened up and made public, and placed under judicial review, it would resolve a whole lot of issues.
The devil will be in the details, and how many checks and balances can be built in. Congress has put lots of 'new' people on the Prohibited list, but they always had some judicial review standard. If the NRA can get that for these 'watch lists', I'm all for them trying. I'm not going to blame them for being stuck in an unwinnable battle.
