Browning experts Shotgun Experts I need help

Okay I pulled out two of them that's scene strikingly similar.
The aperture opening is .3975 approx
To the outside of the Ring at the aperture opening end .7840
The overall length is 10.5"
And the barrel shelf is .8513

I just provided a size on two of them that I haveView attachment 2165623 View attachment 2165624 View attachment 2165625

With a barrel opening over .800, that should be a 12 ga. (as you stated in the op) possibly 16 ga.
But with that small of a hole, it looks to be made for one with a threaded stud at the end of the magazine tube. As opposed to the tube going all the way through.

Keep in mind, Stevens, Savage Winchester, Remington and probably many more could be Browning designs, hence the Browning pat#.

That looks like a 740, 742, 7400, Remington forend, maybe some type of limited edition or something.

I refinished a 742 years ago and was astonished how great the quality of the wood was on it. Thank you for your help I'm going to tag it and do some further research but you gave me a starting point. Now if I can figure out everything else I'll be in great shape

Very true just because Browning owned the pattons doesn't mean it is a Browning. That was my starting point because of the numbers but I appreciate the direction and hope I can figure this darn thing out. I've got some money invested in it and I'd like to get it back quickly
