Ok so I've had this browning since I was little my grandfather gave me but I do not know much about it, its in perfect shape he taught me to clean it regularly and such and the blueing is easy a 95% it is the made in Japan model but that does not matter to me i just wanna know what its worth and if it would make a nice gift to my kid one day it is the rifle on the right it is a 243

The rifle is probably worth around $600, not including the glass. Just a guesstimate and depending on the condition you described. I believe the BLR is one of the finest, if not the finest lever gun ever made. That's just my opinion, but I am right.

A new BLR can be had for $800-$850 and up. I'd say $600ish cash value. Sentimental value is obviously more.

The BLR is an awesome design from an end user perspective.

Yes sir it is it is a joy to shoot but I only shoot it around deer season to sight it in or put some meat in my freezer lol

They are very fine guns I'd take a blr over a JM stamp marlin honestly the action is so smooth compared to my brothers 30-30 or his 45/70

I love Brownings and Marlins. They are probably my two favorite hunting rifle brands, but yes, between the two I choose the BLR any day. I also like that they are magazine fed.

The action on a BLR feels like bank vault door - you can feel the mechanical pedigree. You should never get rid of it.
