I have an AR 10 that cloverleafs. i just want the nostalgia while hunting with the psl. The PSL came out about the time I came into the world or close to it in 1974.

As long as you are aware that your ar10 will 100% out perform. Got a psl and a saiga 12 during the Obama scare days. Paid a lot less than 2100 for psl and still felt like I got hosed. Looks like i should have hung onto the psl!!
The saiga was a solid gun. Barrel was ridiculously too long. Was going to send off to red jacket and let them convert/ chop but all that wild mess happened with him and his daughter 🤦♂️ . And Dr Phil. Ended up trading
Back on topic- would love to get my hands on a tigr or a svd but the price is just not realistic. Knew a guy that had one a couple years ago and wanted 16k for his svd.
Yes Sir I am aware. It'll be my DDR (designated deer rifle) LOL. I agree on the SVD/Dragunovs I want one as well and I don't know why but at this time I just can't justify 10+ grand for a firearm of any type.
These are all toys to me with a sometimes practical purpose though at this point in life I doubt I'll ever need another firearm again for that purpose.
My SBR has me covered for the 15 feet I might require for home defense. It will shoot 1.5 moa with a 10.5 inch noveske barrel as well if for some very strange reason I were to maybe need that.
I get it man. Once you have your bases covered it is a bit easier to venture out. But 10k+ is another level.
The psl i had liked s & b match ammo best. Only tried a couple different types because the brass 54r is a lot less common( or it was 15 years ago. ) was about 1.50 a round but was significantly better. Might still have some left but will have to check
Right!?! LOL. But it's not neutered. I should have bought a stack of them in the 80s when they were 250 dollars but even then 250 bucks was a lot of money for an 18 yo kid.
Sorry had to. I have no quarrel with norinco. But not for me at the price point it is at. Wish I filled my house with wasr variants when they were $229 and mosins for 80-100. I guess I came into a bit late to the game though- but you nailed it. A dollar went much further at that time and i had fewer. ( ain't changed much just got more responsible)
Don't know how they are but there are polymer mag options now too. One of the other things that turned me off to it was mags were hard to find and 10 rounds goes fast. If you're a die hard about having metal mags I saw some recently on sgammo but don't remember price
