I'm not an engineer, but the pressure vectors would be at obtuse angles to make that thing go out the barrel. I guess increased pressure and decreased velocity.
 
Would the pressure be greater to move a plug of a certain weight out of a closed system the length of a rifle barrel? Does the shape of the rear of the bullet have any effect before the bullet leaves the barrel?
Would it be any different than a wadcutter?
