Sellers selling insurance is just a scam. I buy it, but I'll look for competition not running the scam first. I'll pay competition a little more rather than buy into the scam.
You didn't just pay for product. You paid for delivery of product. Had it been stolen off your porch after being delivered, that's your problem. In this case it was stolen in shipment. That's the shipper's problem.
The buyer has zero to do with and therefore no claim on the shipper. That relationship is only between sgammo and UPS. UPS owes sgammo. sgammo owes you. IF your credit card company is worth having, they should handle this one.

SG gave me anti-'Murica vibes after they couldn't be bothered to ship to Cal because Cal sales weren't a large enough percentage of their business to make changes after some of the dumb CA ammo laws went into effect.
When was that?
Don't forget that for a while, Californians couldn't receive shipments of ammunition they purchased in other states or via the internet. It had to be shipped to an FFL for pickup. Some vendors weren't prepared to deal with that ****, and frankly, who could blame them?
Californians elected the asshats who enacted those rules.
Edit: To be fair, this was the California legislator's primary objective. To make it so onerous for ammunition vendors to sell to Californians that they gave up trying, in what amounted to a sin tax. Same as they do with having a firearm roster.
California is and will always be a Democrat Sh-t hole.
I think it was 2018? when CA passed the law that ammo had to be shipped to an FFL. Plenty of out of state vendors made adjustments to their operations and continued shipping into CA. SG could have done it had they really wanted to.
Have they given you your $100 back?
