C&R Bound Book

Here are some sources for the C&R bound book you are required by the ATF to keep. You do not need to log your non C&R purchases into the book, and you do not need to log C&Rs you owned before getting your FFL, but all C&R purchases made after you have your license, whether you used your license to buy them or not must be logged.

I personally just have a 3 ring binder that I print the PDF out and put pages into. Very quick and easy and it is free.

You can also buy bound books from several sources. These are the ones I considered before opting to just log them on cheap paper.

Although I don't think it's necessary, I bought a bound book that is also a photo log for easy reference.

I'm assuming you would have to get info on any buyers of logged firearms to add to your book. True?
Half my guns are C&R, and for $30 I might have to get the license.

Would you want to add the guns you already have to the bound book just for general purpose of listing them ? Or since you had them before you had the license then just leave them out

Ok i am new to having the C&R license. Have not purchased anything since receiving them a few weeks back. Do i add the C&R stuff that i already have to the bound book . Or just stuff that i purchase from now on ?

Late on the reply but you do not have to log the purchase pieces you had prior to the license, but you will have to log selling them.

Do you have some other records of purchases? I don't know how much trouble it would be, if you were audited and had some not on the list.

What I did was log them anyway with original purchase date and just made a note that C&R not used in purchase.
