California Mag Cap law ?

I wanted to send my dad a glock for his b day next month through ffl & I am trying to figure out how the law works in CA. Does the 10 rd mag cap law mean you cant own a gun with a high cap mag or you can own one with high cap mag just cant keep over 10 in the mag? Will someone please clarify for a brother thanks

I know you have to make sure it's on the list of CA approved firearms.

I was told by an FFL who ships mags to CA that he disassembles them first and sends them as magazine parts. What the recipient did wasn't his concern.

yes rebuild kits are allowed. completely disassemble and give the box a good shake for good measure.
