“Any lawful weapons carrier who is prohibited from carrying his or her weapon, including a concealed weapon, and who is injured, suffers bodily injury or death, or incurs economic loss or expense, property damage, or any other compensable loss as the result of conduct of another person occurring on property where the lawful possession of weapons is prohibited, shall have a cause of action against the person, business, or other entity that owns or legally controls such property and causes such prohibition to occur. In addition to damages, the lawful weapons carrier shall be entitled to reasonable attorney’s fees, expert witness costs, and other costs necessary to bring the cause of action.”

I like the idea. We'll see how and if it makes it through the legislature.

The way it should be. I said something to a lady in a Antique Stone in North Carolina a couple years ago, when I got to the door and saw it said NO WEAPONS, I went to my truck and put it back in. When me and my old Pastor friend went in 2 ladies were behind the counter, and asked if they could answer any questions for us. Bam, door opened, I said yes, why do you have a sign on your door No Weapons, one of them said,"Because it's my store and I own it, I set the rules. I said OK so if I'm a law abiding citizen and, LEGALLY carrying a firearm and you make me leave it in my truck, like I did, going back and putting it up. If by chance someone comes in here and is a criminal or felon and shoots and kills me, my wife or my friends and y'all, guess who is going to get sued for not letting me LEGALLY defend myself and my family's safety. THE OWNER MAM. YOU. The other lady said he's right you know. She never said anything else but it put something in her head I do believe.

I like the idea, but don't think it really matters. Most folks who conceal carry are gonna still be packing. And how often do you hear about a guy who would have been carrying but didn't because of a sign, actually get shot?

Now of course not sure how this would apply to places like The Aquarium or a Braves game where they have wands/detectors. I'm thinking more along the lines of restaurants and places that just put a sign in the window but don't check.

Hmmmm. I've never noticed any of those signs...... oh well🤫🙃
I know, all they can do is ask you to leave. I was out of state and wasn't sure of their rules. I could have be an a$$ about it, but being I was going to question them, I needed to be in compliance just in case they tried to call the law. Kind of like Texas Roadhouse a couple years ago, had a sign up and folks began to boycott them and they lost the hell out of business. They apologized and took it down.

The real value is getting people to think about firearms differently. I'd wager that many business owners view them as a liability. This may help to shift attitudes. If there's one motivator that could do it, it's $$$$$. There's no downside to this type of legislation.
