Camper trailer purchase advise.

Budget for this is $6k to maybe $7500.
We have plans to go up to New England, depending on how it goes it could be anywhere.
We are very active, so we will drop it and head out on our daily activities, not looming for a place to spend all day and night for any extended amount of time. Mainly this is to save money long term and not have to move hotels every couple days.

We were looking at doing the same thing....but for us the budget doesn’t make sense. $7,000 would get you 40-60 nights in a hotel room and more depending on your hotel choice. Plus if your a rewards member I bet you could squeeze a few more nights out of an rewards program.

Add to that your average cost for an RV camper site per night and the extra gas it takes to drive your truck and pull a trailer.

I still love the idea of camper trailer, but for us financially, we are better off getting a fuel efficient car and using our IHG membership and Marriott membership rewards cards.

There is an Airstream on ODT for 2K. Get it, spend a couple bucks fixing her up and hit the road.

If you put any money into any AS, you can easily sell it for more than you paid for it. They are are like classic muscle cars, or exotic Italians they never will go down in price. A new full size AS is 100k. Don't **** around with some cheap ass POS camper, get an AS.

I’ll have to look it up and research. Thanks.

I have a fiberglass camper. Anything else we refer to as stick built. Mine is a Casita. Others include Big Foot, Scamp, Boler, Escape. Maybe s few others. Had mine for 10 yrs and it would sell for what I paid for it. I love it so it aint fer sail. It is small but has everything bigger ones have. Campers and boats always require repairs. Helps if you are a little handy. You Tube is a big help. Lot of Forums with good info

Rent several first! What one person likes/needs will have nothing to do with what you want/need. Plus renting will be cheaper and let you test not only the nuances of campering but also let you know if it's something you'd really enjoy. Rent. Rent! RENT!

Besides that, you'll get all kinds of advice on trailer weight. You 'max tow capacity' is no where NEAR what you 'should' tow. Google, you'll get all kinds of 'rules of thumb' about what percentage of your tow capacity you should really max out at.
