You also might check Solid Rock Knives, Scott Davidson makes a nice little get-em-off-me push dagger out of polymer. Not flimsy one bit. He's located in Lula and is a GA Guild member in good standing.

Make one from a piece of flat delrin.
Top one is same on both sides, from Choate Machine & Tool

Ive sharpened some really nice stuff out of carbon fiber plate. It sand easily and keeps a sharp point. Clear coat and laquer it to avoid and carbon fiber splinters (which are very small and nasty)
