So I'm getting one or the other this coming week... I need to make a decision and it's tuff. I like the Glock 43. I want one! But my problem is the S&W 9 M&P shield... the M&P shield has a manual safety, I like that for obvious reasons (it stays close to my important vitals and the most important part of me which makes me a man, get where I'm going with this...) with the Glock there is only the trigger safety. Now I'm very comfortable with glock and the safety. So the question is tell me why I should go with the S&W vs Glock 43, which is what I want. Need help with this one...

I decided years back that on a self defense gun, I want a point and click interface. No manual safety for this guy.
I found that 2 of the Shields I owned (safety/non safety) had sharp rear factory sights...

Ok, don't need the manual safety. That is why I put what I did. To weed out those post. The only other thing about the shield is out of the box the magazine has one extra round but I know that with the Glock I can get a extended mag.
I have SW Shield and Bodyguard.
IMO the Glock 43 hands down.
I have 3 glocks 30sf, 19, and 17.
My next will be the 43 because......to me Glocks are THE BEST PISTOL on the friggin planet.

Personally hate the Shield safety. It's blocked too much to be easily disengaged IMHO.
Also, safeties on EDC's annoy me. I never want to accidentally forget it on when I don't need it to be.
If you have to have it though, your choice has already been made as others have noted.
As far as comfort, I personally like the way the shield feels in the hand vs the Glock, but that's subjective.

I had the Shield and an XDS at the same time. Decided i liked the XDS much better. I could never drop the slide with my thumb was one of my main reasons to sell it.
