Catching Taurus HELL

I get plastered with criticism for buying a Taurus 1911 and upgrading them into a decent pistol. So what's someone to think about buying a Taurus. I got this little Taurus tx22 to adjust the laser on it and fired into a little box full of magazines just test it out. This little gun runs 237 bucks Palmetto State Armory. This is a five shot group at 20 ft. Seems to me this little Taurus is doing just fine. Of course the only Taurus I've ever owned was the PT 1911s and I've owned four or five of those so I don't know about all the rest of them but this one certainly has no issues.

Let the plastering begin!

I was surprised that the accuracy. I didn't expect that just from all the crap I hear from ODT members that let something like a name keep them from buying a decent gun. I've already got one in my sights as soon as I get this rifle purchase out of the way.

The TX22 is a good introductory pistol. They're reliable by 22LR standards, they'll eat just about any ammo you feed them, and they're probably going to be a Taurus standard for a long time.

Also, since they're effectively 'cheap', if you do have to return one under warranty, there's a good chance they'll just replace it if it's unserviceable.

That doesn't undo Taurus' recent (and as far as I know, ongoing) problems doing warranty on some of their other lines. If they have improved, they have a VERY well established reputation for horrible after-sales service to live down.

But I'd happily own a TX22.

The tx22 is the only Taurus worth owning. But that group at under 7 yards is nothing to brag or boast about. That's pretty rough.
