Soooo.... I just tried it in the range with my C39 Sporter, pulling the bolt back does not eject it, it only holds it, did it with mag in and mag out with safety on.

Nah its just the regular one. Doesnt have the bolt hold or anything.
What kinda rifle do you have?
The AK I checked is an OPAP. Sorry for derailment. Not sure if flipping the safety on while mortaring the rifle will help prevent launching a round into the air or not.
Yugo rifles are actually AK clones, and not true Kalishnakovs. The Yugos just copied them loosely with many improvemetns. I know on Russian patterned rifles the safety will not let the bolt far enough rearward to eject a round. It's been a while since I had a yugo so I don't remember if they are supposed to do that, but maybe they designed them to let the bolt back enough to clear an unfired round with the safety on, it would make sense. Or maybe your **** is out of spec bad. LOL
Since I bought mine and haven't had any problems. Maybe I bought the only one in the world that runs properly.
