Cerakote Durability Issues

I’m hopeful they make it right without having to “out” them. Mistakes happen, but a company’s willingness to stand by their product is sufficient for me, assuming they make it right. I agree, I think I should be refunded and I have a lot of concerns about them working on my rifle again, I will see how they respond.

That said, I’ve been on this site a very long time and will look out for the community. I will absolutely report back with updates.

This company has a nearly flawless reputation on google reviews, so I’m hopeful this is a one off, crappy situation.

I agree with the comments about the cerakote job.
I’d ask for a refund and go somewhere else.
But tell me about that cantilever scope mount?
Any reason you chose to mount it backwards and out on the barrel rail as opposed to on the receiver?
I was testing out different mounting options. I’m finding a pistol brace doesn’t give me much room. This at felt best, but I’ll be moving this scope to another rifle and running a red dot.

I paid cash, otherwise this might be a good escalation path. I try to help companies out by paying cash so they aren’t stuck with a 3% fee, but a chargeback might have been really helpful here.

Hopefully it’s not needed.

O, I understand that. Hope it works out for you.

Hiland Arms Hiland Arms is there a test to determine if it’s rattle canned versus cerakote?

It’s not rattle canned. The colors are too thick and clean. Rattle can always has this grainy over spray look to it. It looks like poor site prep and some kind of issue with mixing the colors / hardener / bake time.

My rifle with the Cerakote issues looked flakey and was rusting under the Cerakote. He didn’t do proper site prep so there was moisture under the paint.
