If you're uncomfortable carrying with one in the chamber do this. Load a snap cap into the gun. Put it into your carrying holster (which should cover the trigger and have some level of retention). Now, fire the gun.
If you're using a proper holster it will be impossible. Now preventing a ND on drawing and reholstering is a different matter and requires practice.

So for some time now i have carried an LCP chambered in the back pocket. I have bumped it, sat on it (duh!) and even dropped it with no issues. Being this gun is Double action only, It made getting used to carrying chambered easy. For about a week now, I have been carrying a G27 chambered in a Galco MOB holster with no fear. Thanks for all the advise and the final answer is "Carry Chambered"
I always carry my glock 19 chambered and I never give it a second thought.
Chambered and decocked sig 229 OWB serpa..It covers the trigger...doesnt come out until i want to shoot.
Taurus PT 145 Millennium Pro....one in the pipe ext. safety on. always. Don't want to be forced to ask the "bad guy" to wait will i chamber a round.
ALWAYS CARRY ONE IN THE CHAMBER. you are not going to have time to rack the slide if something goes down.
