They have the sleds on ebay for $36. Type in weight sled and they come up. My pick some up and get my kids to pull them while i shoot at them.(sleds, not the kids)

Any cheaper?
So I am thinking an electric motor (or winch as suggested already) coupled with an Arduino or Rasperberry Pi controller that will start movement at the sound of a timer going off. Basically random start movement with a shot timer to gather how fast you reacted. The other alternative is to have the timer on the controller and have the target "assault" without the noise from a start/shot timer. You could program in speed of the target moving towards you as well. Lots of application here I think. I'll need to make some time start programming some stuff & break out the soldering iron. I've already got a crappy electric motor to play with and Raspberry Pi. Now to find the time...
