Perfecta .223 is pretty good at $14/50rd box
Wolf Gold and PMC are good to go in my experience.
I keep an eye on sgammo.com. Usually buy whatever 55grn brass cased 5.56 is cheapest. Varies from time-to-time. I've bought Federal, IMI, PMC, and GECO from them. All were good. I'll oftentimes go in with 1 or more others, buy bulk, and save even more.
I've not had any issues with North GA Reloading's 55gr .223 Hornady reloads either. 159.99/500, and free shipping. I usually wait until I see them at a gun show, then they usually drop the price to 149.00 That is, if you're ok with reloads.
As others have said wolf gold or pmc. $309 per 1000 on the pmc and $299 on the wolf gold and $16 for shipping.
I've had great luck with pmc bronze. My gun loves it, never had a failure with it, or any issue with quality or consistency. I've never had a problem with American eagle or the federal brown box stuff either.
The only issues I've ever had were Freedomunitions and Atlanta arms reloads.
