Is Girsan any good?

Their 1911s are hit or miss, the hi power clones are ok, but somehow their beretta and browning .380 copies are really good though. I highly recommend.
you might be able to find them cheaper around, I got mine for $320 out the door.
PSA has these for $249 at the moment and I’m having a hard time not getting one as my first Girsan. Already got Beretta 84bb, Which PSA still has for $299, which is the only reason I haven’t.

Their 1911's have a forged frame and bar stock slides. They also do not use cast parts in their 1911's. They are a budget handgun so expect the fit and finish to reflect that. I would imagine a trigger job would be needed immediately.

If I had my choice between Girsan and a Tisas I would have to go with the Tisas. Make sure to put hands on the one you are looking at first. Those handguns have tolerances that are all over the map so check slide to frame for fitment and for action smoothness. Also dry fire to check out the the trigger. If the sales rep gives you any flack tell them to screw off you're going to check the weapon thoroughly before you purchase. Ordering one of the two of those guns off the web is a crap shoot. There are plenty of gun dealers that carry Tisas handguns.

I believe they are licensed by Beretta on their Beretta copies due to either building parts or full shotguns for Beretta, i have had a few of the 92 copies and they seem to be very good.
