Has anyone seen this axe in action? Do you have one? Is it still just prototype? Looks awesome and like it would last a lifetime. Theres a video in the link showing it in action... but ive never had hardwood split like that spruce he was hitting.

I have seen the trick of putting wood in a tire or bungee cord to keep bundled and from falling off chopping base. The twisting action looks pretty tough on the wrists.

Haven't used one, but they are available. They do look effective, but you have to learn a new of swinging and I agree it's look like it could wreck havoc on the arms via the twist.

the way i understand it is you just let it fall and sorta hit at an angle to side split. Not about strength necessarily. .. more about consistently and i would imagine wood grain

That spruce wood is a lot softer than any hardwood you will ever try and split. I'd like to see him do some oak or pecan with it before I have a final opinion.
