Recently bought the cheap Szco Bowie. Do any of you guys have experience with this brand knife or with Bowie knives in general? I know the old saying about not bringing a knife to a gun fight, but the history of these things intrigue me.

I've made several from time to time. Some just get displayed, but some get used. There is so much history both accurate and fake about "Bowies". To most of us custom makers it's more about a blade shape and size and not "The Original" since documentation indicates the knife Bowie used in the Sand Bar fight was actually a big guardless kitchen knife and not all that attractive. Not gonna argue it one way or the other, but here are a few interpretations/variations from my forge/shop. The first one has an occupation, last two are miniatures a little over an inch long each.

At the height of my own Grey Wolf Blades brand knife business, my makers created what I felt was the ultimate Bowie.
Unfortunately, they never lasted long and sold so fast I never retained one. Damn!!
Handmade Damascus Stag Bowies. GWB exclusive!
