I bit the bullet so to speak about a week or so ago when I saw that Classic Firearms got in a shipment of military surplus Chinese Type 54 Tokarev pistols. I love how they kept the frame original without having to add a safety. Instead, they modified the trigger and installed a "Glock style" safety. I've already sourced an original Chinese unmodified trigger to bring it up to 100% original as issued condition. I also liked how they made sure the import marks were minimal and out of the way. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase, sure it is a little more ($349) than a Yugo or Romanian Tok, but they are way more common. I ordered the first day they were offered and did not pay extra for the hand select option. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

Very nice. I love the Romanian one I have. Very fun to shoot. I went and found some more mags on GB too, because they only ship surplus Toks with one mag.

Grab your ammo while you still can!

The manufacturers will be focusing on the mainstream calibers for some time to try to catch up. I don't think Tokarev has gone up that steeply but once it's gone it's going to be some time 'til it's back.
